The UK’s largest provider of football and rugby advertising has added to its ‘Men Through Sport’ offering, with an innovative move into the golf market.
SportsRevolution, which has exclusive rights to over 62 football and rugby clubs around the UK, has formed a joint venture with GP Ads to market internationally the satellite screens installed on golf buggies at major clubs and resorts.
The initiative means that UK based advertising and multi-national organisations can now target corporate decision makers who play golf via the world’s leading ProLink GPS golf buggy system.
Archie Sinclair, managing director of SportsRevolution, said, “Our move into golf highlights our success in delivering major sports to advertisers. Our golf product will enable major brands to target AB men at home and abroad through their sporting passion of golf, at a time when they are most receptive.
“OTS stats are already proving the power of this new media channel, which was put under the spotlight at The ‘K’ Club during Europe’s winning success at the recent Ryder Cup. The system also offers the benefits of minimal production costs and the flexibility of switching campaigns at short notice.”
Advertising on the golf buggies is displayed on 11 inch screens immediately facing the golfers in their buggies and is available on a regional, national and international basis throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South Africa and Australasia.
The units are programmed with full colour graphics which display a hole by hole guide of the course, giving golfers ‘live’ yardages from the ball to the flag or to key hazards. Playing tips and interactive features make the system a virtual caddy, significantly enhancing the golfing experience as well as a fantastic advertising platform.
Over 35 luxury resort facilities have already installed the new ProLink GPS system in the UK alone this year, across their buggy fleets. In total the number of delivered screens will be in excess of 50,000 worldwide over the next 12 months.
