Software companies combine to offer on-line services

7.00am 29th March 2000 - Corporate

In the age of internet technology the golf club has no longer any need to be behind the times. There are an ever increasing number of clubs who can communicate through “Golfagent”, the golf community on the internet.

Members at participating clubs can download their latest handicap details as well as competition results and news of club events. They can be supplied with CD’s to gain free internet access and enter the golfagent environment. The system includes the ability to book tee times at participating golf clubs anywhere in the world.

The web site is updated by the clubs online on a daily basis. It is being run by a partnership between two of the largest software companies in the golf industry – Club Systems International Ltd based in Stockport and Baron Corporation based in Leeds.
