SkyCaddie, unique in golf in walking every course to create and update its accurate maps, has taken another big step by extending its PGA Partner agreement for a further two years.

The move strengthens the long-standing relationship between the two parties and will also see the world-renowned company, which pioneered the use of GPS technology in golf distance measurement, become support sponsor for the PGA Fourball Championship – an event it enjoys a strong connection with having previously been a headline sponsor of the popular competition.

Under the PGA Partner arrangement, SkyCaddie has provided a special PGA Member retail offer.

The agreement also enables SkyCaddie to showcase its other new golf technologies, including the innovative SkyPro swing analyser and the eagerly-anticipated SkyTrak personal launch monitor and golf simulator.

Jacqui Surman, SkyCaddie’s senior vice-president of international sales and marketing, believes the extension will help bring their products to a new generation of PGA Professionals.

“SkyCaddie has enjoyed an excellent and long-standing relationship with the PGA, going back to when the Association first took the step to allow the use of distance measuring devices (DMDs) in its events.

“Our partnership started with The PGA Fourball Championship, and we are delighted to renew not only our PGA Partner agreement, but also our support sponsorship of this much-loved event for a further two years.

“SkyCaddie is well-known as the leading expert in distance measuring devices, providing a GPS device for every golfer at all budget levels. However, we are now also known for our ground-breaking SkyPro swing analyser, which will also shortly be joined by our new personal golf simulator and launch monitor – SkyTrak.

“We look forward to working with the PGA to help a new generation of golfers and professionals to discover both of these new products, as well as our award-winning range of SkyCaddie GPS devices.”

Aside from its status as a PGA partner, SkyCaddie is also the official rangefinder of the PGAs of Canada and Sweden.

The hallmark accuracy of its devices is achieved by using professional mappers who walk every course recording critical target information with sub-meter precision.

PGA chief executive Sandy Jones added: “Technology has helped improve the enjoyment of golf for millions of golfers and nowhere more so than with distance measuring devices.

“SkyCaddie is a valued part of our PGA Partner scheme and the two year extension reflects the strong relationship. We are also delighted to have their on-going support for the PGA Fourball Championship which remains one of the most popular events with PGA Members.”
