SkyCaddie GPS users dominate again at PGA Seniors

12.30pm 30th August 2023 - Corporate

Golfers using the latest SkyCaddie GPS devices once again dominated the top of the leaderboard at the latest event on the Legends Tour.

In last weekend’s Staysure PGA Seniors Championship, 80% of the Top Ten and ties were SkyCaddie GPS users, including winner Peter Baker and four others in the Top Five and ties.

And as SkyCaddie GPS usage on Tour continues to rise, 70% of the entire field at Trump International trusted SkyCaddie’s ground-mapped GPS yardages to manage their play during the tournament.

Baker’s Staysure PGA Seniors win was his third on the Legends Tour this season, after victories in the Irish Legends and JCB Championship tournaments earlier this summer. He currently leads The Race To Mauritius money list on the Tour, ahead of Alex Cejka and Vijay Singh.

Englishman Baker finished six shots clear of fellow SkyCaddie GPS user Greg Owen, with former U.S Open Champion Michael Campbell using SkyCaddie on his way to a joint third place.

2022 Legends Tour money list winner James Kingston plus Baker’s fellow European Ryder Cup stars Phil Price and Paul Lawrie also used SkyCaddie GPS en route to a Top 20 finish at the weekend.

“With seven events left in the 2023 season, all mapped and updated on foot by SkyCaddie, this amazing Tour is now heading for France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Zambia, Vietnam and Mauritius” said SkyCaddie’s James Holmes.

“Our debut season as Official Distance Measurement Device for the Legends Tour could not have started better” he said. “Four out of the six events so far where DMD use was allowed have been won by golfers using a SkyCaddie. The feedback from the players and caddies is all positive, they love the speed and accuracy and see it as a great asset to their jobs.”

“Yet more proof, if it were needed, that smart golfers use a SkyCaddie GPS on every hole – whether from the tee or fairway, particularly when planning carries, runouts, layups and distances to pins and major green contours,” said Holmes.
