Sales soar at Power Tee

12.10am 26th November 2004 - Corporate

Golf-Tech Ltd, the manufacturers of the acclaimed Power Tee automated teeing system, look all set to crash through the 800 sales barrier before the start of the 2005 season. That is the confident prediction after a hugely successful 2004 during which the company installed a total of 396 Power Tees at driving ranges and other golf facilities across the British Isles. That figure brings to more than 760 the number of units currently in use at almost 70 facilities across Britain, but, with a further 53 installations outstanding, the total number will pass the 800 mark, just after the turn of the year.
Two Europro Centres, the Portsmouth Golf Centre and the Westridge Golf Centre on the Isle of Wight, are among Golf-Tech’s most recent customers, bringing to five the number of Europro centres that offer Power Tee to their customers. Terry Healy, the owner of the Portsmouth Golf Centre, elected to install 26 Power Tee Units in his 22-bay range (including four double bays to accommodate left-handers) and he has been delighted with the results.
“It was a big investment for us but certainly not one I regret making,” said Healy. “I have been watching the market for two to three years and, to begin with, it would be fair to say I was far from convinced about what the various automated teeing systems offered.
“I wanted to make sure that the public didn‘t see the systems as a bit of a gimmick. I also wanted to be convinced about their reliability and it was only when I was satisfied on both those levels that I decided to go ahead and purchase the product.
“In the first two weeks since the units were installed we have seen a definite upturn in business and my customers seem to like them which is the most important thing as far as I‘m concerned.”
The Westridge Golf Centre installed 18 Power Tees as part of a major renovation and its owner, Mark Wright, is equally pleased with the results. “We have been through a complete rebuild here and the initial results have been very encouraging,” he said. “I‘d like to think that we have transformed the place into a state-of-the-art, all singing, all dancing facility and the decision to install Power Tee in all of our bays is an important part of that.
Given the fact that we‘ve changed everything here at Westridge, it’s difficult to quantify just how important Power Tee has been in the upturn in business we have enjoyed. But, put it this way, I wouldn‘t want to be without them.
“Power Tee is the best automated teeing system on the market, there’s absolutely no doubt about that.”
