Ryder Cup sell out for Sunderland of Scotland

12.05am 27th September 2006 - Corporate

Scottish rainwear manufacturer Sunderland of Scotland has had a phenomenal week at The K Club. The Merchandise Pavilion was a hive of activity and by 10am on Sunday morning Sunderland had sold out their entire range of Ryder Cup merchandise. This represented almost a 50% sales increase on the 2002 Ryder Cup at The Belfry
The weather was a key factor as spectators queued to buy the latest Sunderland Rainwear including the new GT Tour Lite suit consisting of an ultra soft lightweight GORE-TEX® fabric making it lighter to wear. Its GORE-TEX® fabric technology ensures optimum performance long after other waterproof, breathable materials have stopped working.
Brian Mair, business unit manager said, “It has been an incredible week, ‘a once in a lifetime experience’ for everyone involved. The feedback from the consumers on both our brand and our products was fantastic. The team have worked extremely hard planning this event and dealing with the constant flow of spectators looking to buy waterproofs. To cap it all, we supplied Presidents Bush Senior and Clinton with a GT Pro Convertible Jacket and Bucket Hat which President Clinton was seen wearing on the course on Sunday.”
