2015 has proved to be a pivotal year for RangeBay as an increased demand for the structure highlights the importance of having a covered unit for your golf facility.
Originally launched in 2012 RangeBay is available as a 1 – 10 bay permanent or portable structure that gives you the opportunity to practice and teach all year round even if the British weather doesn’t want you to!
RangeBay has benefited from recent design improvements which further enhance the structure and stability and an increase in manufacturing capacity has seen a reduction in production times in its UK based factory.
Recent installations include The Golf College, Culford School, Gowerton Golf Range and Letchworth Golf Club and by the end of 2015 saw the installation of the 84th bay of RangeBay with 10 more to currently in production.
The installation of a 4 bay and 8 bay RangeBay to concrete has had a massive impact on The Golf College during term times spent in the UK, Paul Lyons said: “During the bad weather we use to have to take students indoors where only 5 can practice at a time hitting into a net, now with the addition of the covered RangeBay we are outside all the time with a full class of 12 hitting balls using Trackman.”
Based at Lindfield Golf Club in West Sussex The Golf College was founded 11 years ago by Denis Pugh PGA master professional and Paul Lyons head PGA professional AA (t). It delivers a first class full time golf education to 16 and 19 year olds who study an equivalent of 2 to 3 A levels over a period of 1 – 3 years.
During the winter term time the college teachers and students transition to the warm weather of Portugal to continue their education and play tournament golf.
Alwena Roberts of Range Bay said: “We managed to turn around 12 bays in 4 weeks including manufacture and installation to fit in with the half term college window as this was the only opportunity we could get on site.”
Culford School in Bury St Edmunds opened its new golf academy in 2015 to provide its students the opportunity to combine a first rate education with first class golf coaching from former European Tour member and PGA professional, Lawrence Dodd. The new designated 260 yard practice grounds has benefited from the installation of a 2 bay portable RangeBay with jockey wheels and 10 branded teardrop dividers to define hitting areas.
Lawrence Dodd, Director of Golf said: “My experience both with Alwena and RangeBay / Range Solutions team was excellent. Great communication streams were set up which was very important to me as the customer. I found the products to be just as described and the installation of the range bay by Robbie and his team was efficient and to a high standard. Overall I am very happy with my experience and would definitely recommend their services to others.”
The Academy offers young golfers a range of essential components that will allow them to develop their talent and significantly improve their golfing abilities. Some of Culford’s new golf programme includes regular personalised coaching sessions, technical golf skills development and specialised golf strength and conditioning training.
Letchworth Golf Club developed its covered practice range facility over the space of two years from initially installing one 2 RangeBay to concrete in 2014 with another 2 bay following shortly after in 2015. The final piece of the project was completed in early 2016 with a four bay unit that gives the facility a total of 8 all-weather bays.
The project was part funded in different stages with one two bay RangeBay funded by Woodland Golf Build and the four bay by Sports Lottery England.
Alwena commented: “Throughout all 3 installations at Letchworth Golf Club it has been a pleasure to carry out the installations under the careful and watchful eye of Tony Pohlman whose engineering background made it all the more rewarding for the feedback on the structure.”
Tony Pohlman from Letchworth Golf Club said “We are delighted with the practice bay units supplied and installed by Range Bay / Range Solutions. The product is well designed and engineered with good build quality and supplied at a competitive price which is so important to the golf market as most golf clubs are not finding it easy and can only compete by offering the best facility.”
