The QHotels Group has appointed golf and leisure industry specialist Keith Pickard as the group’s new golf, leisure and spa director.

Pickard has taken up the new position after spending the last seven months working with the UK’s largest golf resort operator as a consultant on a number of projects. Among his responsibilities will be to oversee a multi-million investment in the group’s seven golf resorts across England and Scotland over the next three years.

Pickard has vast experience of the UK golf resort industry over the last three decades, working in various senior roles for some of the biggest names in the business including De Vere Hotels and Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, and is relishing the opportunity to cement The QHotels Group’s status at the forefront of golf in the UK.

He said: “With the number of golfers continuing to soar across the UK, these are exciting times for the golf-resort industry and I’m thrilled to be taking on this new role with The QHotels Group, who are responsible for some of the most popular venues in the country.

“I am passionate about delivering high standards and outstanding personal and memorable experiences to all our members and guests, and the new three-year golf investment plans just one of the ways that we can continue to ensure that we offer the best facilities and customer service possible.”

The QHotels Group manages seven top golf resorts in England and Scotland: Belton Woods, in Grantham, Lincolnshire; Dunston Hall, in Norwich; Oulton Hall, Leeds; Slaley Hall, in Hexham, Northumberland; Telford Hotel & Golf Resort, in Shropshire; DoubleTree by Hilton Forest Pines Spa & Golf Resort, in Brigg; and DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Spa & Golf Resort
