Pride Sports launches environmentally friendly Golf Tee

12.53am 17th November 2008 - Corporate

Pride Sports, manufacturer of the Pride Golf Tee brand, the world’s number one producer of golf tees since 1950 is delighted to announce the launch of the Insignia golf tee, the game’s first 2-piece and the most environmentally friendly golf tee in the market today.

Manufactured with a patent-pending 2-piece, 2-color design, Pride Sports’ Insignia golf tees utilise significantly less wood in the manufacturing process, generating 80% less waste than a traditional golf tee. In addition, the finish of the tee adheres to ASTM F963 and EN71 coating requirements, making the product both safe for the environment and safe for golfers.

“In the history of wooden tee manufacturing, no company has ever been able to produce a tee of such high-quality that uses less wood to manufacture,” commented John Hohman, director of marketing, Pride Sports USA. “Insignia is truly an environmentally safe and golfer-friendly tee, and the unique two-piece design makes it not only durable, but an attractive looking product for golfers of all playing levels.”

Designed to provide maximum performance and durability, Insignia golf tees are available in two sizes, 2¾” and 3¼”, and come in four colour styles, including red/natural, blue/natural, green/natural and cherry stain. The 2¾” tees will be available in packs of 15, 50 and 100, while the 3¼” tees are available in packs of 15, 50 and 75.

PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company’s purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world’s premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively.

Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
