Pride Golf Tee backs the Golf Foundation

12.10am 31st January 2008 - Corporate

Pride Golf Tee, the world’s leading supplier of golf tees, is giving continued support to the Golf Foundation as its Official Tee Supplier for 2008.

For the third year in succession, Pride Sports has donated a total of 25,000 Pride Golf Tees to help more children get the ball airborne and enjoy all the benefits that golf can offer young people.

Each of the 3,125 packs contains eight Professional Tee System tees. The tees will be used during a range of Golf Foundation school and community golf initiatives, from the inner city ‘Golf Roots’ programme which helps urban youngsters get into golf, to junior activity at golf clubs, where children learn all the aspects of the game and work towards their first handicap using the Junior Golf Passport, the officially recognised structured learning programme for golf.

On a promotional level, the tees will be presented to golfers at events like the British Golf Industry Association Golf Day and the annual Golf Foundation Pro-Am.

Mike Round, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said: “We are delighted that Pride Sports chose to support us for another year. This successful relationship is indicative of how a major brand can help this charity and put something back into the game. The Foundation’s grass roots junior development programmes, working in support of the national golf partnerships, all help to increase the number of people enjoying this sport. We believe this is something worth supporting.”

“We are delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile organisation as the Golf Foundation. The work they do in promoting the game through initiatives like Golf Roots is pivotal in introducing youngsters from different backgrounds to the game of golf,” commented Louise Roe, International Sales and Marketing Manager of Pride Sports.

Each Pride Golf Tee Professional Tee System pack contains pairs of tees of four different lengths, designed to be used with irons, fairway woods and different sizes of driver.
