After the tremendous popularity of its Freeway range over the past 12 months, and immediately following the launch of the 2015 FW Series, PowaKaddy has increased production capacity at its Kent-based HQ.

The brand achieved overwhelming success in 2014, amassing a year-on-year sales volume increase of 45%, largely thanks to the improved performance and aesthetics of the FW3, FW5 and FW7 models.

Responding to this trend, retailer reaction to the further enhanced 2015 Freeway from the market’s No. 1 brand has been markedly strong, necessitating the unprecedented addition of another assembly line at PowaKaddy’s Sittingbourne factory in order to meet demand.

Commenting upon the decision to increase production, PowaKaddy Manufacturing Manager, Amanda Stelfox, said: “We were blown away by the popularity of the Freeway Series last year, which is testament to the quality of the product, both in terms of performance and its modern design.

“With enhancements to this popular line being made for 2015, we expected to see further growth this year, but pre-book figures among retailers so far have surpassed even our expectations. For this reason, we have taken the decision to install a 3rd assembly line which increases our capacity by 50% to keep up with this demand.

“This is the first time in company history that we have had to take these steps to satisfy the hunger for our products, which, as a manufacturer, is a terrific position to be in.

“We clearly have a lot of work ahead of us, especially so close to the start of the golf season, but this gives us real encouragement that we are delivering a range of products that fits perfectly with what the consumer has come to expect of PowaKaddy as the market-leader in electric trolleys.”
