PlayMoreGolf, the UK’s largest flexible membership offering, has expanded its Club Acquisition team with the appointment of new staff member George Hannah.
Hannah, who is responsible for the growth of PlayMore Golf’s network in the South of England, brings over eight years of experience within the golf industry, having worked at The Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, working as an event manager in the golf team, before a move to a commercial role for the wider estate.
A qualified member of the Professional Golfers’ Association, Hannah will manage a group of approximately 900 clubs, spanning Norfolk to Cornwall. His role will see him liaise directly with key stakeholders at golf clubs, offering advice and guidance on how the introduction of a flexible membership scheme could help to steady the ship as the industry moves out of the COVID-19 golf boom.
A pivotal aspect of Hannah’s role will be to work alongside golf clubs to establish how a flexible membership scheme can help maintain these levels and generate a new stream of additional revenue.
Hannah said: “I’m delighted to be joining PlayMoreGolf, especially at such a crucial time for the industry. As a keen golfer myself, and having worked within the industry for a while, I have seen first-hand the positive impact this new wave of ‘flexible’ players has had on clubs over the past 18 months.
“As part of my role, I will aim to help golf clubs navigate through this tricky period and communicate with them daily to ensure they always feel informed. What’s important now is to try and maintain the enthusiasm of this new wave of golfers, and to continue to make the game accessible for as many people as possible. Flexible memberships are key to this, and I am excited to work with clubs across the South of the UK to help them introduce this to their membership offering.”
