Thomson Perrett & Lobb, the design firm founded by five times Open Champion Peter Thomson, is to exhibit at the Golf Industry Show in Orlando, the world’s leading trade show for the golf course industry, next week.

“We have been attending GIS for several years,” said TPL’s London-based principal Tim Lobb. “As our business has grown and become more global, it makes sense to exhibit at the show, as it’s known to be the top venue for the world’s golf industry to meet. We’re not necessarily targeting US projects – although if the right one came up we’d certainly be interested, and our experience working on courses by architects such as Harry Colt and Willie Park Jr means we could certainly help a number of historic American clubs rediscover their design heritage. But we are managing projects in Turkey, Nigeria, Dubai, UK and Egypt from our London office, as well as in many Asian and Pacific Rim countries from Melbourne and Shanghai offices. So, as a global player, we want to be where the industry gathers.”

Ross Perrett, principal of TPL’s Melbourne office, will also be attending the show. TPL’s presence at the show has been supported by UK Trade and Industry’s Tradeshow Access Programme. “We’re grateful for UKTI’s support,” said Lobb. “Their funding is helping us take our skills to a wider audience. We invite developers, golf club representatives and members of the media to visit us at the show on stand 3613.”
