Ojee Golf made its mark in Asia recently after chief executive Matt Hulbert was hand-picked to present the TALON at the International Festival for Business (IFB) launch in Shanghai.
Part of the UK government’s official visit to China, the exclusive event – led by commercial secretary to the Treasury Lord O’Neill and Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson OBE – cast a spotlight on the industries which are defining the output of the North of England.
Hulbert was invited, along with just five other UK companies, to represent the ‘Northern Powerhouse’ and present the TALON to more than 100 Chinese businesses and officials – kick-starting the international outreach of the festival ahead of its opening next June.
He said: “It was both surreal and a great honour for Ojee Golf to be invited to such a prestigious event. The UK has become the most popular destination for Chinese investment in Europe and, being from Middlesbrough, I was delighted to represent the ‘Northern Powerhouse’.
“Having just finished our crowdfunding campaign, it’s fantastic that people are beginning to take notice of the TALON and believe in it as much as we do. We are looking forward enormously to the first production run in November.”
The cutting-edge brand’s flagship product, the TALON is a golf training aid which – for the first time in the game’s history – delivers real-time, visual feedback on golf stance, set-up and angles of address.
Anderson added: “As one of six official representatives from ‘Northern Powerhouse’ cities, it is a privilege to launch the International Festival for Business 2016.
“The businesses we have invited to join us here are exceptional testaments to the ‘Northern Powerhouse’ and the burgeoning talent and opportunities that exist for foreign direct investment.”
Golfing legend Jack Nicklaus highlighted the importance of posture in his book, Golf My Way, when he said: “If you set up correctly, there’s a good chance you’ll hit a reasonable shot, even if you make a mediocre swing. If you set up to the ball poorly, you’ll hit a lousy shot even if you make the greatest swing in the world.”
The TALON was born from these informed words and they have become the driving force behind Ojee Golf’s pursuit to develop a training aid unlike any other.
