Newly launched company keeps it in the family

Chris White a director of market leaders in golf signage ‘Ken Whites’ has launched a new company ‘Out of Bounds’ which has been set up to complement the services already provided by the well respected and long established family run business based in the south west.

Husband and wife team Ken and Jean White started Ken Whites in 1967. They passed the business on to their three sons, Chris, Ben and Simon, in 2007 following their retirement after 40 years.

Since 1999 Chris has had an active role in developing the Ken White brand, mainly in the golf market including designing the logo and strap-line ‘The Home of Golf Course Signage’.

Chris will continue to build on this experience through the ‘Out of Bounds’ brand in association with Ken Whites both home and in their ever expanding international market.

As director of the new company, Chris will act as a sales/design consultant for Ken Whites international golf course signage with sole rights to selling the product anywhere in the world. Although still maintaining a directorship in Ken Whites, Chris will not be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the family business as he will solely be running the new company.

Clients will continue to receive the excellent customer service they have always enjoyed from Ken Whites together with the extensive, high quality products produced by the company from all types of Tee Signs, Directional Signs and Information Signs to Car Park Signs, Club House Signs, Entrance Signs and Events Board Signs.

Ben White, general manager of Ken Whites said, “We have made a lot of changes to the company in the last couple of years streamlining the business in order to improve efficiency whilst maintaining high standards and customer service. This latest development was a natural progression in the company’s future growth. Chris has unlimited drive and passion and these qualities will help to enhance the consultation and design service backed up by the Ken Whites high quality customer service and products.”

Chris White, company director of Out of Bounds said, “I am very excited about this new venture which will offer complementing services to Ken Whites. Out of Bounds will provide a foundation upon which to express creativity and individuality, building on a reputation for being friendly, helpful and providing a high quality service.

“I have had years of experience and built excellent relationships through Ken Whites and enjoy creative thinking. My plan is to consult with the client in order to get an in-depth knowledge of their business and target market in order to look at ways of doing things differently, encouraging them to be unique.

“I see being individual as very important in today’s competitive market place. Golf signage is a visual communication and enhances the playing experience. My aim is to help golf clubs get noticed and stand out from the crowd whilst being sympathetic to their natural surroundings and environment.”

Out of Bounds will be developing very different and high-end products including course guides and scorecards. Chris White will add value to this service with his own brand of individuality. Golf clubs have to stand ‘head and shoulders’ above their competitors – particularly in the current economic downturn. Chris White will be adopting an ‘educational’ approach to this challenge and will be talking with golf courses.
