New PING clubs for women

1.10am 23rd March 2006 - Corporate

PING has launched a brand new range of G5L golf clubs, custom built to help women golfers of all abilities get the most from their games.
The new G5L series includes a wide choice of drivers, fairway woods, irons and hybrids, all engineered to allow women to hit longer, straighter and higher shots. The new G5L clubs are all designed to be sold individually, meaning that each customer can choose the combination of clubs she needs. They can also be custom fit to suit each woman’s exact size, strength and playing style.
“The G5 Series represents yet another advancement for PING in bringing golfers – in this case, women golfers – product technology designed to lower their scores and increase their enjoyment of the game,” said John Solheim, PING chairman & CEO. “Our engineers challenged themselves to match the design of the G5L to the very specific needs of women golfers. The result is our highest performing women’s product to date. The early feedback from women who’ve tested the clubs at fitting and demo days has been extremely positive.”

G5L and G5L Offset Drivers
PING’s new G5L ranges comes with a choice of two drivers – the G5L and the G5L Offset – that bring women to the forefront of the latest driver technology
The new G5L driver is specifically designed to help women achieve longer and straighter drives. The 460cc titanium head ensures the forgiveness to attack any fairway while the ultra-light graphite shaft and 14˚ head combine to match slower swing speeds for higher, longer carrying shots.

G5L Fairway Woods
The new G5L fairway woods are designed as alternatives to the G5L mid-and-long irons and are reliable from a wide range of distances. The large, stainless steel heads offer forgiveness and control to hit higher-launching, softer-landing shots. Its rocker sole design adapts to any lie and the crescent-moon graphic on the crown aids alignment.
The new G5L Fairway Woods are available in a choice of four different lofts: 18˚ (3-wood), 22˚ (5-wood), 26˚ (7-wood) and 30˚ (9-wood).

G5L Irons
The G5L irons are engineered with large heads and wide soles to help women launch the ball higher and straighter. With wider loft gaps than traditional irons, women with slow swing speeds achieve meaningful distance gaps and benefit from every club in the bag. Custom fit with graphite or steel shafts, the G5L irons are easy to swing and can be ordered in any combination to match a woman’s needs.
There is a choice of eight G5L irons available: 5 (26˚), 6 (30˚), 7 (34˚), 8 (38˚), 9 (42˚), W (46˚), U (51˚) and S (57˚).

G5L Hybrids
As a mid-iron alternative, the G5L Hybrid provides women with the confidence and performance to attempt shots never before imagined.
The sloped crown positions the centre of gravity low and back, promoting a higher launch angle and greater control. The stainless steel head’s compact design and prominent trailing edge ensure playability from all conditions. With shorter lengths than equivalent fairway woods, the G5L Hybrid is easier to swing and control.
The G5L Hybrid is available in two different lofts: 26˚ and 30˚.
