New Internet product requires no IT skills

12.05am 18th July 2000 - Corporate

Euro Systems Projects Ltd (ESP), suppliers of computer solutions to the Golf industry for the past 10 years, has announced the release of a revolutionary Internet web site.

Book-a-tee.com enables sales of tee times to members and visitors 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The web-site is able to differentiate between members and visitors, charging the correct rate as appropriate. This is credited immediately to the club’s bank account. It is even able to identify a five-day member attempting to book at the weekend and will charge the correct fee.

The system is simple to install and easy to use. The club retains full control of the tee-sheet and can pre-allocate availability for Internet users as desired. As reservations are made by Internet users, the bookings appear instantaneously on the reservation screen at the club, eliminating any chance of double booking.

Book-a-tee handles competition results with ease. The club enters players’ scores and at the push of a button the ‘leader board’ will be published on the Internet for all the participants to view. It also allow golfers to keep handicap and playing records on-line allowing them to view their exact handicap at any time.

David Ross, Managing Director of ESP, said, “ This is a world leading British product which allows golf clubs to harness and capitalise on the power of the Internet, without requiring any IT skills. The demand for this product has been phenomenal. The cost of the system is, on average, equivalent to one or two bookings per month, making this an addition that a club cannot afford to be without.”

ESP has decided to lease the Book-a-tee system to clubs, as opposed to purchase, which will keep the costs to one simple monthly payment and will also ensure that any enhancements to the technology can be passed directly onto the clubs. This will ensure that the systems do not get out of date in a constantly changing environment.

If clubs already have a web site Book-a-tee offers a direct link, allowing users to view club information, location etc. For those clubs without a web-site ESP will provide space for the club to promote their facilities, including a picture as required.
