New from Nike

Building on Nike’s 25 years of designing performance footwear, Nike Golf is introducing a new member to its Total Performance range of golf shoes, the Nike Air Zoom Elite World.

The Air Zoom Elite World features all the performance benefits of the recently-launched Air Zoom Elite, with the added styling of a national flag emblem on the back of the heal. With European flag options including England, Scotland, Sweden and Germany, golfers can now customize their footwear to show their support for their home nation while enjoying the game-enhancing technology of a shoe worn by Nike Staff Tour professionals.

Nike staff players competing in key events this season will be wearing their own versions of the Air Zoom Elite World, including England’s Paul Casey sporting the cross of St George at various tournaments.

The European Tour will also be seeing plenty of flag waving in ‘08, with Nike staff players Richard Finch, Simon Dyson, Oliver Fisher, Patrick Sjoland and Scotland’s World Cup winner Marc Warren all showing allegiance to their respective national flags at tournaments such as the BMW PGA Championship, Scottish Open and SAS Masters. In addition, the German Golf Federation’s men’s team, which is sponsored by Nike Golf, will be wearing the Bundesflagge on its footwear throughout the season.

The limited edition Nike Air Zoom Elite World, which is available in stores now is another example of how Nike Golf footwear is building on its foundation of total performance – the blend of Nike Air Technology with Nike Power Platform technology that provides unsurpassed comfort in every step.

The innovation behind maximising comfort is Nike Air Technology, which provides additional cushioning as well as lighter, softer and more stable comfort in a low-profile Air-Sole unit. Further enhancing comfort and improved fit is the all-new moulded Heel Fit System, which is attached directly to the heel for an exceptional and constant fit.

Traction originates from the Nike Power Platform technology located in the outsole, featuring the Nike Power Channel. The outside push plate provides support and control through the backswing, while the inside plate flexes to help maintain contact with the ground through impact. The result is a stronger upward push through impact for more power through the swing.

Further stability is offered by the use of Champ Q-Lock Scorpion Spikes and directional resistance nubs, which are designed to control rotational movement and keep the golfer perfectly balanced at all times.

Adding yet more to its overall comfort is Nike’s Sympatex All Weather, a moisture-wicking, waterproof membrane that helps keep golfers’ feet dry in the rain and comfortably ventilated in the heat. This advanced technology is packaged in a premium, soft full-grain leather upper for durability and guaranteed comfort.

With soft full-grain leather uppers and a limited two-year waterproof warranty, the Air Zoom Elite World offers world-beating performance with a personal touch.
