Following successful trials among Fife Golf Clubs in 2011, and a rollout to more than 550 men’s and ladies’ clubs worldwide since then, MyGolfRanking, a unique free service to golf clubs and their members, is delighted to announce major nationwide and global expansion plans in 2015, writes Jezz Ellwood.

By their very nature, club golfers are competitive creatures, always eager to see how their games hold up, scorecard in hand. Good-natured bragging rights have long been a highly sought-after commodity at golf clubs up and down the country.

But imagine being able to extend the bragging rights and recognition way beyond your immediate circle of golfing friends, or your club’s own four walls, to the whole of your county, country or even planet.

Until now it has only been elite players who have been able to truly judge their performances against others, but MyGolfRanking’s ingenious system, created by the mathematical brainpower behind The R&A/USGA World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), changes all that, using similar calculations as WAGR to generate performance rankings that can accurately differentiate between handicap golfers right across the globe.

It is the only performance ranking system for ordinary club golfers, and crucially requires no outlay or significant work on the part of participating clubs or members, turning the quest to accurately assess performance among club golfers everywhere from pipedream to reality.

Golf clubs can register free on the www.MyGolfRanking.net website. They will then be allocated a dedicated home page, where members can see how they’re faring against others locally, regionally, nationally or globally, with extensive use of Facebook and Twitter bringing the whole experience to life.

The real beauty is that once a club is registered, there is minimal work required, and nothing for club members to do other than check in regularly to see how they’re getting on against other handicap golfers in the club, county or beyond. MyGolfRanking takes care of all the administration and distribution of information.

“Our vision is to have MyGolfRanking adopted around the world as the truly global golfing social network,” says creator and founder, David Moir. “There is no doubt that by adding MyGolfRanking to the competitive menu, club golfers can pit themselves against their peers and intensify their desire to outrank all others in their club and beyond.”

The chance to be crowned club, county or national No.1 is guaranteed to bring an added buzz to any golf club’s competition calendar this year. MyGolfRanking can help make that happen!
