Two Euroselect members were fortunate enough to receive sets of limited-edition Mizuno 241 irons made available during the 2024 Masters, inspired by the stunning Azalea flower which is renowned for its presence at the 13th hole of Augusta National. With just 100 sets being made available for purchase across Europe, an idea surfaced to benefit others.
Rather than following the normal line of retailing and selling them for a quick profit, Terry Sims – Silvermere Golf Complex and Mark Taylor from Affordable Golf decided to offer these up to the highest bidder of which 100% of the proceeds would go to their chosen charities.
Terry selected the Lucy Rayner Foundation, where the money raised will pay for 70+ counselling sessions for young people with serious Mental Health issues or for bereaved parents who sadly need help and support through tragic circumstances.
Mark Taylor selected Aberdour – Scotland’s Children’s Charity, which focuses on offering practical and emotional care and support. This included funding fostering, recovery, interventions, and urgent assistance to name a few ways in which they help Children across Scotland.
Nick Tempest, General Manager of Euroselect, said, “I am proud to announce Terry (Silvermere Golf complex) and Mark (Affordable Golf) raised a total of £7,300, which is on its way to the two charities.
“A big thank you to our two donors who are now the proud owners of these beautiful Mizuno limited edition Azelea irons, to Mizuno for gifting these to Terry and Mark and finally to Terry and Mark for the idea and their generous donations to their chosen charities.”
