MIA Sports Technology, the leading European golf technology distributor for leading brand names such as FlightScope, V1 PRO and SAM PuttLab have recently completed a number of teaching and fitting studio installations across key European markets.
Jamie O’Sullivan, the professional coach at Charleville Golf Club, Cork recently conducted a survey at the club to ask how the membership would like to see their coaching facilities improved and how each member could contribute to that development. The results were a demonstration of just how much a community of players can achieve when they work together. Members at the club included electricians, plasterers and builders; all of whom gave up some of their time to build a brand new coaching studio, the materials for which were funded by donations from members of the club raised through a club-wide raffle and prize giveaway.
Jamie approached MIA Sports Technology for consultation during the planning and construction process to make sure that the dimensions would be appropriate for the equipment they wanted. MIA Sports Technology also incorporated all of their equipment and wiring into the design and build phase so that the finished studio was not strewn with wiring or bits of equipment; everything was pre-fitted behind the scenes.
The coaching studio at the club now hosts a FlightScope® unit which is being used for both club fitting and during lessons; a dual-camera license for V1 Pro to give the professionals video analysis capabilities and two large plasma screens to clearly display all of this information to both the coaching staff and the students.
Since Charleville Golf Course made this investment in their facilities they have seen notable increase in revenue from both club fitting and coaching fees and are reaping all the benefits that a studio brings to a club. This particularly includes the level of service that all members can now receive in addition to the facilities that the coaches can take advantage of. www.charlevillegolf.com
Tee2Green is a Golf Academy in the Netherlands and a member of the Golf Store Group. The Academy is host to Richard Paul, teaching professional, who recently pushed for new teaching facilities to be built which take advantage of the fantastic technological innovations in coaching practices. The result was a custom-built double studio which has been used for coaching, club fitting and ball fitting.
This room was designed in coordination with MIA Sports Technology to make sure that all elements of the technology were incorporated into the build phase, including faceplates on all walls and floors in the necessary locations so that all wiring could be kept out of sight. This both minimises tripping hazards and gives the studio an overall more professional feel to it, increasing the overall satisfaction of students and customers.
The studio includes four cameras specifically calibrated for the V1 Pro video analysis software and dual camera licenses to give them the ability to video a player from two angles simultaneously. The room is then complemented with a wide array of screens and computers to display the information live for both coaches and students; and is furnished with sofas for customer use. Shutter screens keep the room safe and dry during poor weather and are easily lifted when the equipment is being used. www.tee-2-green.nl
