In recognition of its successes, Troon® and a number of its venues in the UAE are celebrating this New Year following a fruitful awards haul at the recent Middle East Golf Awards (MEGA), collecting some of the most decorated accolades.

The Middle East has long been a spearhead for Troon, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing as a number of its most prestigious facilities command the region. Operating at 25 locations in thirteen countries, Troon’s Middle East and Asia Pacific division typify the Company’s ability to deliver exceptional golf experiences and surpass the expectations of its guests, impressing golf’s opinion formers to collect their most noteworthy accolades.

The Els Club Dubai was a headline winner on the night, as it featured in no less than four categories, most importantly collecting the highly sought-after accolade of “Golf Course Maintenance Team of the Year”. The flawlessly manicured playing surfaces at The Els Club Dubai are a constant, in true tribute to the design by four-time Major Champion, Ernie Els and the continued effort of the Els Club Dubai team underpinned by the investment by the owners, Dubai Sports City.

Further recognition came inside the venue’s Spanish Colonial-styled clubhouse as The Big Easy Bar & Grill received the “Best Food & Beverage Outlet of the Year”. Thanks to its unique collective of stunning dining, exceptional service and wide-collection of wines from Els, the restaurant continues to excel for its guests with the award as proof of this dedication to perfection.

And as if these weren’t enough, supplementary recognition came in the form of the “Golf CSR Initiative of the Year” honor for its Els for Autism tournament and the Butch Harmon School of Golf took home the “Academy of the Year” prize.

It was an equally as successful night for the TDIC owned Abu Dhabi Golf Club who picked up the prestigious award for the “Best Golf Course Above 500 AED of the Year”. Decided by the public, the highly-competitive category upholds the club’s standing as a leader in the UAE and wider afield as it prepares for the 11th hosting of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship. The Peter Harradine-designed course also received recognition for its 2015 hosting of the event, as it collected the “Best Professional Golf Event” for the fan’s experience.

Decided and supervised by an expert collective of local industry captains, a total of 16 categories were presented at a glitzy ceremony and cocktail reception in Dubai. The MEGAs are owned and organised by Sport360 in association with the region’s golf bodies and sports councils, including Dubai Sports Council and Emirates Golf Federation amongst others.

Following several further successful awards ceremonies in 2015, including the exciting haul Troon’s international division at the World Golf Awards, the MEGA awards add further gloss to an outstanding year for the Company.

The accolades complete a 25th anniversary year to remember for Troon, as not only the Company received recognition for its outstanding achievements, but also those of its individual golf clubs and courses who continue to meet and exceed their guests’ expectations. As it moves in to 2016, the industry-leader is already looking to new ways to open its facilities for golfers to enjoy its renowned hospitality, not just in the Middle East but across the collective of 200 properties worldwide.
