Jacobsen, the UK-based manufacturer of turf maintenance equipment, has signed a sponsorship agreement with Myanmar Golf Federation to become the ‘Official Golf Course Equipment and Machinery Partner’ for the next three years.

The agreement will see Jacobsen support the Myanmar Golf Tour which aims to “develop golf in the country and to discover talented players who can make the step up to professional level”, as General Secretary, Myanmar Golf Federation, Myat Khine, explains. Jacobsen will maintain the courses around Myanmar during the tournament with its renowned quality of cut.

The sponsorship signing ceremony took place at the third tournament of the year on the Myanmar Golf tour at Yaytagon Taung Golf Resort, Mandalay, Myanmar. Representatives from Jacobsen, including Chuck Greif, Managing Director Asia Pacific, and Annie Boriraj, APAC Business Development Manager, met with Mr. U KoKo Aye, the president of the Myanmar Golf Federation to sign the sponsorship agreement. Jacobsen dealer for the region, Forest Park, also attended the event.

Commenting on the sponsorship agreement, Chuck Greif said: “We are delighted to become the ‘Official Golf Course Equipment and Machinery Partner’ of the Myanmar Golf Tour. It is a highly anticipated event in the region, and we are looking forward to supporting the tour by supplying it with Jacobsen equipment and providing technical support.

“Jacobsen has maintained golf courses at many high-profile events, including the French Open, the U.S. Open, the Scottish Open, and the Olympics. The Myanmar Golf Tour is another prestigious event that Jacobsen is very proud to be supporting.”
