Player and event management company International Sports Management has announced a partnership with sustainable golf business Ocean Tee that will result in ISM-contracted players being supplied with bamboo golf tees for tournament use and ISM staff wearing branded Ocean Tee polo shirts at events.
Ocean Tee has been rising to prominence ever since the company launched its award-winning bamboo tees just under two years ago. The business, which also produces golf clothing, uses sustainable materials to create premium quality golf products. Raising awareness around the impact of plastic pollution on marine habitats is at the core of the business, with Ocean Tee donating 25% of all corporate profits to marine conservation charities.
ISM Chief Executive Chubby Chandler said: “When I first went out on Tour 40 years ago, sustainability was probably the last thing on anyone’s mind. Golf is a completely different sport now, and I’m delighted that ISM is working with companies like Ocean Tee. The team and our clients are rightfully growing more conscious about the impact we all make on planet. This is one of a number of new partnerships we are engaging with to drive awareness, support positive change and reduce that impact.”
Under the exclusive agreement, Ocean Tee products will be used across the ISM Group. ISM staff will be wearing the newly launched, award-winning Mako Polo from Ocean Tee at all Tour events. ISM’s Tour players have also been given Ocean Tee bamboo tees so that they are able to make a sustainable switch as competition resumes on the European as well as PGA Tour.
Ed Sandison, founder of Ocean Tee, said: “The partnership with ISM is a really important step forward for us as a business. We want to showcase our products to as broad an audience as possible. We’re excited to see our clothing and tees used at Tour events and hope that this exposure will encourage more people and places to make small changes that have significant environmental impact.”
He added: “We’re committed to driving sustainability to the forefront of the golf industry and by working proactively with our charity partners we will continue to use our brand to help tackle plastic pollution and promote the health of marine environments.”
