IMG strikes new design deal with Foxconn Group

KCT Engineering, a member of the Foxconn Group from Taiwan has signed a golf course design deal with IMG for an 18 hole golf course called Hoa Lac near Hanoi, Vietnam.

The project is located east of Hanoi and part of an industrial estate, Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. The overall master plan calls for the development of an 18-hole golf course integrated within a residential development. The golf course is expected to open in 2011.

Patrick Wu, manager of Real Estate Development Division of KCT Engineering stated, “We would like to build a world class golf course to serve the growing golfer population from the greater Hanoi area. At the same time, the quality of the villas integrated with the golf course should become the benchmark in the region. By inviting IMG to join us to design the golf course, we believe their design team will add tremendous strength to promote our project as well as giving the best value to our future clients.”

KCT Engineering is a construction arm of Foxconn Group in Vietnam. With strong support from the group, KCT intends to grow its business in Asia for the construction and real estate business with its focus on industrial parks, commercial and residential buildings and recreation facilities.

IMG Golf Course Services is the specialized division within IMG which includes golf course design and golf course management. IMG works with professional golfer design clients such as Colin Montgomerie, Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen, Padraig Harrington, Retief Goosen, Ian Woosnam, KJ Choi and Annika Sorenstam.

IMG’s Golf Course Management division operates and consults to some of the top resort and private clubs in the Asia Pacific in addition to providing detailed golf club pre-opening management and consulting services. IMG currently manages or consults to 15 golf clubs region wide and has concluded to completion a further 31 management or consulting assignments.
