Huxley Golf has announced the appointment of a new distributor in Austria to look after sales and installations of the entire Huxley range of golf practice, teaching and playing aids. Trading as Huxley Golf Austria, the new company is based near Graz, Austria and is owned and operated by Head Professional Markus Strobl and PGA Golf Professional Eddie Cooper.

Speaking enthusiastically about their appointment, Mr Cooper said: “Golf in Austria is relatively new, but it’s a sport that Austrians have taken to and their determination with everything means they are more than willing to put time and effort into improving their own standard of golf through hard work on the practice ground. The problem with practising here is that for half the year, natural grass surfaces suffer due to the coverage of snow, whereas the Huxley range of alternative, high quality low maintenance solutions will give users a much better surface. I am sure that many golf establishments in Austria will seek to have Huxley Golf All-Weather Surfaces at their facility.”

For demonstration purposes, a Huxley All-Weather practice chipping and putting green has already been installed in Austria at the Klockerhof Driving Range in Graz. Visitors and prospective customers are encouraged to try the surfaces and see how they can benefit from what Eddie and Markus believe is by far the best all-weather surface on the market.

Eddie Cooper was a trainee at Royal Guernsey Golf Club before becoming a fully qualified PGA professional. He then took the position of Head Professional at Golf Club Gut Freiberg in 1996, where he first met Markus Strobl. Markus was a junior member at Freiberg, then a green keeper and trainee professional before becoming Head Professional four years ago.

Huxley Golf Sales Manager, Paul Chester, is delighted to have Markus and Eddie on board. “Huxley Golf Austria is a valued asset to the growing Huxley Golf Distributor network and I have no doubt that they will soon be carrying out many Huxley Golf all-weather installations to enhance the enjoyment of the growing number of golfers in Austria. Both Markus and Eddie have a superb knowledge of the golf market and have a professional approach to everything they do. The team here are looking forward to working with them immensely.”

Products available from Huxley Golf Austria include the extensive range of Huxley Premier All-Weather Surfaces for golf which provide high quality, low maintenance alternatives to natural turf on golf courses, golf tees, practice tees and ranges, golf greens, indoor and outdoor putting greens, paths, cartways, patios and lawns.

The product line-up also includes the range of premier quality Huxley Modular Greens which are supplied in kit form for DIY installation in just about any location and the Huxley Rotanet, a unique fully-retractable golf practice net designed for fast, easy assembly indoors or outside.

Huxley Golf has installed its products at some of the world’s top golf courses including St Andrews Links and the Celtic Manor Resort, venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup. Huxley Golf have installed 3 large all-weather golf greens and all-weather tee areas on the new short game practice area at Celtic Manor, one of five Welsh National Centres of Excellence, all of which benefit from Huxley All-Weather Surfaces. This new facility was recently opened by golfing legend Arnold Palmer.
