Huxley Golf is celebrating its role in World of Golf’s successful launch of its new Performance Centre, recently opened by golf champion Bernard Gallacher OBE.

The new facility in New Malden has brought together golf’s premier brands to create a superlative tuition and practice centre, designed to enable golfers to make tangible improvements to their game in the shortest possible time.

Director of Huxley Golf Paul Huxley said: “We’re delighted to have been involved in this project which is leading the way in golf tuition. The World of Golf Performance Centre is a fantastic showcase for the range of solutions that we provide here at Huxley Golf, and the requirements of the installations demonstrate how our product range works hand-in-hand with groundbreaking new technologies.”

Huxley Golf helped with the creation of two features, both incorporating high-tech coaching systems. The first installation, a video analysis suite, has been created around a floor mounted balance plate, which measures pupils’ stability and foot pressure to enable the coaching team to correct swing faults scientifically.

Huxley Golf installed two 6ft (1.8m) x 6ft (1.8m) Premier Tee Turf 2 mats fringed by 172 sq.ft (16 sq.m) of Huxley Golf Leisure Turf to enhance this purpose built coaching zone. The tee turf mats provide ultimate flexibility to suit players’ preferences since the surface is hardwearing and suitable for both irons and woods and tee pegs can be placed anywhere on the surface. Combined, the two mats create an ample practice area for both left and right handed players.

The second Huxley Golf installation features a large indoor Modular Putting Green measuring 16ft (4.8m) x 4ft (1.2m). Complete with SAM PuttLab system, the facility’s futuristic computer forensics can detect putting stroke length, direction, acceleration and consistency with a high degree of accuracy so that coaching can be based on fact rather than opinion. The Huxley Golf green was installed with two holes at one end to accommodate SAM PuttLab at the other.

Duncan Woolger, Golf UK Top 100 Teacher, Advanced PGA Professional and Master Professional at World of Golf knew that the playing surface would play as important a role as the technology at the Performance Centre.

He said: “Huxley Golf surfaces are renowned for being as close to real grass as you can get. This was important to us because there’s no point in deploying state-of-the-art technologies in ball and club tracking to get an accurate reflection of a player’s improvement points if the surface itself is unlike being out on a course – it would undermine the science.”

Grant Wright, Chief Executive of World of Golf is passionate about World of Golf’s new services. He commented: “Our philosophy is to be at the forefront of coaching excellence and to provide everything you need to become a better golfer. That’s why we choose to work with the best golf brands to create outstanding facilities and opportunities for fast and efficient learning.  I’m delighted with the quality of our new practice features which I am confident will help thousands of golfers raise their game to new levels.”

Huxley Golf provides premier all-weather surfaces for golf around the world. Clients include training and coaching establishments, golf resorts, ranges and academies as well as many well-known golf courses.
