Total Golf Centre has opened at the Hull Sports Centre, formerly known as the Hull YPI. The centre took just over 4 weeks to take it from the empty sport Hall it was into the now state of the art golf facility.
The compact golf facility is almost 1000sqm in total, providing an area with a seven bay driving range, a nine hole putting course, a separate putting green, driving bays and an impressive 200sqm chipping green. All of the turf is of high quality synthetic surfaces and provides true to life borrow and roll of real greens.
The incredible 200sqm chipping green has an undulating area consisting of several golf holes, which offer the player plenty of variety when it comes to perfecting their shot-making skills. By using each teeing area and selecting different targets on the green, it can provide different shot options and improve abilities.
The nine hole putting course has been landscaped in an interesting way providing undulations that add interest and complexity to each hole.
The driving range is fitted with projection facilities which provide a range of options, including fairways, greens and various targets to test a player’s ability and accuracy of shot making.
There is also a mezzanine floor overlooking the facility, fitted out with V1 coaching system and Flightscope facility, which provides state of the art swing analysis for Head PGA Pro Tony Howarth to provide lessons to players of all abilities.
Tony said: “The centre will be a focal point, not just for existing golfers who can come along and practice their short and long game all year round, but it will also be a great place for children and families to come and experience golf for the first time”.
The centre is there to cater for all abilities from the complete beginner to the low handicappers with a facility they can use all year round. There is very much a family friendly atmosphere where communities can visit any time whatever the weather!
