Give-away green fees

7.35am 26th September 2006 - Corporate

Up to 400 rounds of golf are being given away in October by online tee-booking service TeeGenius.
The first 100 people to register in the month will receive their initial tee-time – which may be anything up to a fourball – for free. Users will be given a unique voucher code when they register which can be used for any club in the TeeGenius network.
Jago Brown, managing director of TeeGenius, said, “We want to encourage people to use TeeGenius and this is the ideal way to do it. Some people are a bit reluctant to try an online service for the first time, but this takes out any perceived risk people might see and more importantly gives them a free round. We could be giving away £16,000 of tee-times.
“We think it’s a great offer. A group of four friends could play for free every week in October if they take it in turns to book, and they may even discover some new courses to play.”
TeeGenius is an online tee-time booking service that allows golfers to search availability at courses in their area – with no charge for joining or booking. The one-stop shop also includes in-depth course profiles so golfers will be aware of a club’s rules and etiquette, smoothing the way for hassle-free golf.
The service has recently added the London area after initially launching in south-west England and south Wales, focusing on Bristol, Gloucester, Newbury, Newport and Cardiff. The scheme is continuing to expand and plans to eventually include the whole of the UK.
