GAME GOLF, the company that changed how golfers use data to improve their games, has been named an official technology partner and exclusive supplier of on-course shot-tracking devices and services to Golf Channel Academy (GCA), one of the most expansive golf instruction networks in North America.

For the next three years, GAME GOLF and Golf Channel Academy will provide more than 225 coaches an opportunity to integrate GAME GOLF’s technology into their student-coach relationships. The Golf Channel Academy network includes 49 of Golf Digest’s “Best Teachers in Your State,” 20 of Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 Teachers,” and six former PGA or LPGA National Teachers of the Year located at 67 academies across the country.

“Coaches can’t be on the course with their students all the time,” said Todd Wilson, CEO of Golf Channel Academy. “GAME GOLF allows coaches to literally see how a student is progressing and, using the data collected, can offer meaningful advice to improve their swings and enhance on course strategy. GAME GOLF is another valuable tool that we are able to offer Golf Channel Academy coaches to engage with students on an ongoing basis.”

The initiative, which will also include 450 additional coaches who are members of Proponent Group (PG), involves designing a learning platform to help amateur golfers use data to improve their games. Coaches will receive training on how to best use the platform and how to understand statistics to help their students improve. With the partnership, GAME GOLF will be the only shot-tracking product sold on the GCA and PG websites.

“Wearable technologies keep consumers connected as they play in just about every sport,” said GAME GOLF CEO John McGuire. “Instantly, you can see how you are performing and share, compete and compare the data. GAME GOLF has led the wearable tech movement for golf. In a short 18 months, GAME GOLF has become the only company that puts the power of golf data onto every mobile device. And now, we are going to meaningfully work with leading coaches so they can use data to have greater impact on their students’ golf games.”

New GAME GOLF LIVE will be the basis of the program. The platform recently came on the market as the world’s first automatic, real-time shot tracker for iOS and Android phones. GAME GOLF LIVE is a small device that clips onto your belt and is accompanied by 18 red-hot data-capturing GPS sensors for the top of each club. The system is the most revolutionary way to capture all your stats over 18 holes so that you can instantly visualize and share your game in real-time, on your iOS or Android phone. GAME GOLF LIVE is integrated into Apple Watches and will be coming to Android and Pebble watches soon.

The GAME GOLF platform has over 33,000 courses mapped, over 700,000 rounds of golf uploaded in more than 125 countries, and has captured data on more than 60 million golf shots. GAME GOLF has partnerships with the PGA of America and Golf Channel.  GAME GOLF is the first and only wearable technology that can be used in tournaments as permitted under the Rules of Golf by the R&A and USGA (when used without the App), and is the official shot-tracker of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. GAME GOLF is endorsed by golf professionals Graeme McDowell, Jim Furyk, Lee Westwood, Chesson Hadley, and Sophie Walker. It has been adopted by leading coaches and golf instructors.
