Foremost adds ‘breaking news’ ticker to its in-store video monitors

Foremost Golf, the UK’s largest retail and marketing services group, has launched another advancement to its Elite Marketing Programme Premium service with the introduction of a local news ticker bar to its EMP Video monitor.

Since EMP Video monitors were introduced last year, more than 240 stores have implemented the fully-automated system which allows the retailer to co-ordinate brand marketing campaigns with video content in-store. Video monitors make up one of the four key pillars of the EMP Premium service that are completely free when opting in to the industry-leading digital marketing service.

Foremost’s latest innovation is the inclusion of a local news ticker bar which runs across the bottom of the screen, helping to grab the attention of hundreds of golfers as they come into the pro shop by showing the latest shop offers and club news.

This will allow the Foremost EMP member to populate the ‘Breaking News’ bar with their latest updates, including course information, club news, coaching news, retail offers and even an automated local weather update. This feature further engages customer interaction with the video monitors and can be easily managed and updated by the member retailer via their personal online admin tool.

Displaying high-quality bespoke content, provided by EMP suppliers, video monitors are automatically populated only with brand and retail campaign content assigned for the individual store. This is performed remotely by Foremost’s support team via free mini-computer HDMI PC sticks, ensuring that the content is up-to-date and relevant, but crucially the member professional has the peace of mind that this is taken care of and they can spend time in other areas of their business.

Andy Martin, Foremost’s managing director, commented: “The pro shop has the busiest footfall of golfers anywhere in the golf club, so we wanted to develop a solution for our members that capitalises on the opportunity to capture the attention of this audience. This provides a great way for our members to communicate with all their members and guests, not only providing a great course information service, but also driving increased awareness of the latest products and offers in-store integrated with their EMP Premium digital marketing.

He added: “We are trying to make the marketing journey as comprehensive as possible, whether the first contact is online via the websites, e-newsletters or social media services, or in-store with integrated A-Frames, signage and video monitors. Our member professional retailers and their teams are the most important part of the sales conversion process, and we endeavour to support them with marketing services that fully educate their customers about the products they can purchase in their stores.”
