The most recent Golf Datatech UK retail audit reveals that FootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in golf, once again recorded impressive market shares for sales of its market leading golf glove range.
FootJoy dominated the volume brand share at 43.9%, which was over six times greater than its closest rival. The brand registered an even stronger performance within the ‘on-course retail channel’ figures, by achieving 50.3% of the volume brand share; nearly seven times more popular than its nearest competitor.
Such is the quality of the entire golf glove product line-up, FootJoy gloves were also on top in the breakdown of total unit model share sales. The WeatherSof® was #1 with 14.5% of sales, closely followed by the WeatherSof GTX (11.5%) and SciFlex™(7.1%) that were #2 and #3 respectively.
The degree of popularity enjoyed by FootJoy in the glove market is emphasized by the fact that both the Weathersof and Weathersof GTX models sell over 50% more than the next brand’s entire glove range.
“These latest figures underline the strength in-depth we have across the whole FootJoy golf glove line-up from the Tour preferred StaSof to the hugely popular WeatherSof. We have more new products in the pipeline too as we continue to raise the bar when it comes to golf glove comfort and performance.” said Mike Lucas, director of UK sales and European marketing for FootJoy.
FootJoy recently added the new PureTouch™ golf glove to the collection setting a new standard in feel, fit and performance for the serious player and is already the preferred choice of three time Major winner Padraig Harrington and rising star Rory McIlroy. Featuring a lighter leather specification, a more tailored, conforming fit and new leather preparation techniques, PureTouch is designed for better players who demand the finest in materials, fit and feel.
The continued popularity of the entire FootJoy glove range combined with the constant development of innovative new products is ensuring that FootJoy maintains a firm grip on the UK glove market.
