In a private transaction, the Duran Group has acquired the largest sales representative organization in the golf industry, the National Golf Sales Representatives Association (NGSA), together with Golf Clearing House. The NGSA has 3400 Sales Representative Members and over 400 Manufacturer Members. The organization was founded in 1987 by the late Tom Moynihan, who passed away in September 2015.
“Over the past 27 years and 27 Orlando PGA Shows, I’ve always looked forward to seeing Tom Moynihan, and all of us who were touched by Tom will miss him dearly” stated Tony Duran, President and Founder of The Duran Group. “Over the past couple decades, Tom and I had many discussions on ways to improve the Sales Representative profession in the Golf Industry, and we are looking forward continuing with this important mission at a crucial time in the golf market.”
Pamela Nichols, the sister of Tom Moynihan assumed control of the NGSA and GCH upon Tom’s passing, and her golf industry advisers strongly recommended The Duran Group for running the organization going forward. “We researched many options for continuing operations with the NGSA and GCH, and we selected The Duran Group to continue with Tom’s vision and lead the organization in the future,” she said.
The NGSA will be in a meeting room (Room W107) at the upcoming 2016 PGA Merchandise Show, which is located one floor below the PGA Booth Exhibitor level near the PGA Educational Conferences. The 2016 Orlando PGA Show is from January 27th through January 29th, 2016 at the Orlando Convention Center.
“We have considerable work ahead to improve the benefits for NGSA Members, and I look forward to receiving lots of feedback from Sales Representatives nationwide during the week of the show,” stated Tony Duran.
The NGSA and GCH is based in Scottsdale, AZ. Headquartered in Orange County, CA, The Duran Group is the largest sales and marketing firm in golf. Developing and managing sales teams and executing marketing campaigns over the past 25 years, The Duran Group has been an integral part of the growth of over 50 golf companies, including the development of several new categories in golf such as plastic spikes, hybrid clubs, hand-held GPS, robotic bag carts and single rider standing electric golf carts.
