Direct Golf UK, the leading multi-channel golf retailer, has expanded their portfolio to 17 stores with the acquisition of four new sites across the UK.
Following the purchase of Tramgear Limited, a Nevada Bob’s franchisee, Direct Golf UK will take on new sites in Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Farnborough and Reading.
The news follows another successful financial year for award-winning Direct Golf UK, who has bucked the trend of golf retailers in these tough economic conditions.
Neil Bell, Managing Director for Direct Golf UK, commented: “We are delighted to secure the four new sites as part of our wider expansion plans. Our focus over the last few years has been on profit, but following the best years in our 19 year history, our focus is now firmly on expanding our retail portfolio.”
PGA Professional Bell went on to say: “We now feel we have our model right and that golfers appreciate Direct Golf UK’s ‘total customer satisfaction’ guarantee with our mix of World Class customer service, huge stocks, super fast delivery allied with the best prices in the UK.”
The four new stores will be opened in consecutive months, with the Peterborough Superstore due to officially open the weekend of the 4th-5th December.
The impressive 5,000 sq foot high-street store will boast a start-of-the-art Vector launch monitor giving golfers the ability to demo all the latest equipment from all the leading brands on-site and benefit from Direct Golf’s full custom-fitting service offered by its PGA Professional staff.
With a large indoor putting green, bespoke clothing shop-in-shop, specialist ladies and junior areas plus excellent parking – the new Peterborough superstore is perfectly equipped to epitomise Direct Golf’s ‘total customer satisfaction’ pledge.
Speaking ahead of the Peterborough store opening, Bell added: “Our aim is to have a total 20 Direct Golf UK stores within the next 12 months. So watch this space for further details of new store openings.”
