12.30am 7th December 2006 - Corporate

Club Car has become the preferred supplier of turf / utility vehicles and golf cars to the European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA). The agreement between Club Car and the EGCOA was signed at the first annual EGCOA conference held in Amsterdam last month.

The EGCOA is made up of approximately 600 golf course owners across 12 European countries and was established to represent their interests on a European level. The EGCOA is dedicated to serving the needs of golf course owners across Europe and to helping owners build stronger business models through education initiatives, best-practice sharing, and partnerships with other industry stakeholders such as Club Car.

The deepening of the relationship between the EGCOA and Club Car, the worldwide leader in golf utility and golf car manufacture, is a clear reflection of both companies’ strong common goal; to grow the game of golf.

Roberto Gorostiaga, Club Car’s recently appointed director of sales and marketing for the European Served Area signed the agreement in Amsterdam. He commented, “Club Car is committed to providing the best service possible to golf course owners, from manufacturing award winning products through to delivering superb after care. Our status as a preferred supplier to the EGCOA bears testament to our unerring dedication to the business of golf at every level.”

Marcel Welling, former chairman of the Dutch Golf Course Owners Association and now president of the EGCOA, signed the agreement on behalf of the EGCOA, “We are delighted to form this partnership with Club Car,” said Marcel. “Club Car has an enviable track record in the golf industry and I have no doubt that their knowledge and experience, as well as the quality of their products and after sales support, will help our members improve their businesses.”

Roberto continued, “Owners around the world count on Club Car to manufacture innovative products that offer reliable performance, and profitability. We are excited to partner with an outstanding organization that is committed to growing within the industry, and we look forward to meeting the needs of EGCOA members as best we can.”

The first EGCOA conference brought together over 170 representatives from 12 different European countries. As part of their commitment to the EGCOA and to celebrate their appointment as preferred supplier Club Car organised a boat trip for members through the famous canal system in the centre of Amsterdam.
