Leading bunker liner supplier Capillary Bunkers has hired Cory Blair as its new sales and business development manager for the south-eastern United States.

Blair, who started with Capillary in February, previously sold the firm’s solution while working for Ewing Irrigation. Atlanta-based, he was educated at Auburn University, from which he graduated in 1992 with a degree in agronomy and soils.

“Coming to work for Capillary Bunkers was a natural fit for me,” said Blair. “It is a terrific product, very well researched and with a great reputation. To be honest, the product really sells itself – once you do a demonstration for someone, and they see the water running through it, they invariably go ‘Wow’. It allows superintendents to use their labour resources in much better, more creative ways.

“As someone who worked on golf courses for a number of years, I like being able to help superintendents. I see Capillary Bunkers as an Everyman product: although it’s high-spec, it is still affordable to little mom and pop courses, because they can install it in-house as resources allow. My first day on the job, I was on a plane to Arkansas, visiting a small course that plans to install the product bit-by-bit, basically a couple of bunkers at a time. Being able to help courses like that really makes me happy.”

Blair’s territory will extend from Arkansas in the west to the Carolinas in the east and include states such as Georgia, where he is based, Tennessee and Mississippi.
