Callaway renews commercial partnership with Golfbreaks

7.21pm 20th April 2021 - Corporate

Golfbreaks and Callaway Golf have announced a continuation of their longstanding partnership, which has to date rewarded the loyalty of over 7,500 customers with equipment from Callaway as part of their golf holiday booking.

For 2021, the partnership will further integrate sports and travel bags brand OGIO into Golfbreaks’ customer rewards and competitions, ensuring that golfers’ clubs, clothing and accessories are protected by the designs of these best-in-class products wherever they travel on their break.

Despite a challenging year for the industry, 2020 saw Golfbreaks’ biggest ever domestic travel months at the end of the summer, with more golfers than ever deciding to take a UK ‘staycation’. This increased demand for domestic travel has continued into 2021, with the vast majority of customers with disrupted trips opting to postpone these into 2021, resulting in one the busiest forward-booking years in Golfbreaks’ 23-year history.

The partnership with Callaway and OGIO allows Golfbreaks to once again thank customers for their loyalty, and will provide competitions and content throughout the year, sure to engage golfers ahead of their trips. Additionally, following the PGA TOUR’s investment into Golfbreaks in 2019, and Callaway’s own partnership with the European Tour, it also means that Golfbreaks customers will have access to content from both of the world’s leading professional men’s tours.

With golfers in England able to play again from March 29th, this year’s partnership kicked off with a social media competition designed to help golfers get “Back on Course” with prizes including Callaway’s Epic Speed Driver, Odyssey Stoke Lab Putters, Chrome Soft Golf Balls and OGIO Travel Bags and Backpacks. These prizes are in addition to golf holidays and tee-times at Top 100 courses including Woodhall Spa.

Of the partnership, Andrew Stanley, Golfbreaks CEO said: “The importance of customer loyalty and rewards has never been more evident than the last year, and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Callaway and OGIO through 2021 as we help our golfers Get Back on Course. We’re looking forward to being able to offer their fantastic products to our customers and share their industry-leading content with golfers to excite them ahead of their break.”

Greg Pearse, Commercial Director of Callaway Golf Europe, commented: “We’re delighted to be extending our partnership with the team at Golfbreaks. There are so many synergies between our two businesses and it’s exciting to see what we can deliver together over the coming year, which is sure to be a big one for golf.  It’s also great to be integrating the OGIO brand within the agreement as we expect a huge appetite for travel both domestically and internationally as we begin to emerge from the recent restrictions.’’
