Promote Training have recently completed the delivery of a new blended learning course on the ‘Group Booking Sales Process’ to all club sales & marketing personnel within Burhill Golf & Leisure (BGL).

The course included a one-day workshop delivered by Promote Training Co-Founder, David Reeves, at Abbey Hill Golf Centre. An eLearning refresher and assessment, passed by all participating employees, followed this. Burhill Golf & Leisure are the first operator in the industry to offer blended learning for their Golf Management Team.

Blended learning combines traditional face-to-face education with online learning. The company is well positioned to excel at both, with David Reeves experience of leading workshops on golf club management topics for both the Professional Golfers Association and over 200 Golf Clubs in the Private and Propriety sectors

This combines with their growing reputation as the first dedicated eLearning provider to the UK golf industry and an increasing library of practical courses on a variety of Golf Club Management subjects.

The course covered the key aspects of increasing golf day and society income at a club – from prospecting for new business through to the taking of the booking and maximising yield from the event.

Jess Eyton, BGL’s Group Sales Manager, commented: “Our team of sales personnel really enjoyed the experience. Content is still ‘King’, undoubtedly, and this course included lots of best practices and new ideas on how our clubs can grow group booking revenues.

“The blended-learning format helped deliver all of these new initiatives in a time effective manner, with the eLearning section reinforcing the topics covered and allowing our staff to reflect on lots of new concepts and strategies that they can implement at their home clubs.”

One of the largest golf course operators in the UK, BGL Golf has 22 courses at its ten venues, with leisure centres and Adventure Golf courses developed at selected sites. The vision of BGL Golf is to offer ‘great destinations for every golf and leisure occasion’, providing accessible and affordable golf to players of all abilities.
