In response to demand from member companies, the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) will expand its educational and networking gatherings in 2026.
Speaking at the Federation’s 16th Annual General Meeting, President Chris Gray confirmed that the AGIF will increase the number of events it stages around the region.
Citing the success of the AGIF Club and Turf Management Conference in Bangkok in May and the AGIF Annual International Summit in Kuala Lumpur in October, Gray said there’s an increasing desire for face-to-face get-togethers around the region, focusing on topical topics affecting the golf industry.
Overall attendance at this year’s Summit totalled 140 – almost double to 2024 – and the addition of the Business Leaders’ Invitational and the AGIF Awards Gala Dinner provided new dimensions.
Gray said: “Based on the success of these events, there’s clearly a strong demand for more gatherings such as this where knowledge is shared and opportunities for networking abound. The AGIF is committed to hosting more educational and networking events that will bring together personnel from all sectors of the golfing industry in the region.
“There’s a strong sense that the industry needs a successful and well supported annual event such as the AGIF International Summit, as well as gatherings of shorter duration around the region throughout the year at which personnel from all facets of the industry can come together to discuss the state of the game and help to shape how it progresses.”
To that end, Gray said planning is already underway for a strong calendar of events in 2026 at which world-class speakers and presenters will be brought together.
Gray confirmed that the AGIF Annual International Summit will return to the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur for the next two years – 2026 and 2027. It will retain the same location at the Sime Darby Convention Centre and be held the same week as the LPGA Maybank Championship. For 2026, the dates are October 27-29. Registration will open shortly.
“It’s also the intention to stage three other one-day AGIF Club and Turf Management Conferences in 2026, starting with Bangkok, Thailand on May 26 at Robinswood Golf Club. Others are being scheduled for Singapore/Johor in June and Hanoi, Vietnam in August,” added Gray.
The AGIF has also been appointed as the Educational Partner for the inaugural MENA Turf Show, which is scheduled to be held at the Park Hyatt Dubai on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Meanwhile, Gray said there would be a push to attract new member companies to the AGIF in 2026.
“The AGIF is a not-for-profit organisation that welcomes golf clubs and companies from all facets of the industry to join and play a part in the development of golf in our region,” he said.
Among the companies that the AGIF has welcomed as members over the past 12 months are Curley-Wagner Golf Design, Enviro Max, Envoy Golf, Golf Caddies, Golf Genius, GreenBest Ltd, Parslow & Winter Golf Design, Tirupathi Agro Ind, Trojan Battery Company and 54.
Among the Facility members who have signed up are Impian Golf & Country Club and Kelab Golf Sarawak in Malaysia, Plover Cove Golf Club in Hong Kong and The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram in Vietnam.
