Shot-tracking technology company Arccos Golf has announced the appointment of former Google Product Manager David LeDonne as Vice President of Product in a move designed to extend its market-leading position.
A single-digit handicapper with 15 years’ experience leading software, hardware and data project teams at Google, LeDonne will spearhead Arccos’ work to develop innovations that help even more golfers of all skill levels harness the power of their on-course data to play smarter and shoot lower scores.
“As Arccos membership has rapidly scaled, we’ve cast a wide net searching for the ideal individual to lead our product team,” said Steve Obsitnik, Arccos President & COO. “In Dave, we quickly recognised a unique combination of experience, curiosity and a true passion for the game. His role on the Google Flights team working with large scale consumer data sets precisely aligns with our goal of continuing to develop game changing innovations that will impact the growing number of golfers around the world.”
A Notre Dame graduate with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, LeDonne spent almost four years at Google before joining Arccos. In his new role, he will work closely with the company’s software, hardware, data science/A.I., marketing and business teams.
“On-course data has always been a part of my personal golf journey and for years I manually recorded all my shot data and analysed it using spreadsheets and a common strokes gained model,” said LeDonne. “When I started using Arccos, I was blown away by the user experience and value it provided to my ongoing quest to improve. The platform is already great, and with nearly 500 million shots in the database, I’m so excited for us to push the product to be even better.”
