360 Golf, the innovative multi-course owner, investment and golf management company, has activated plans to acquire multiple golf businesses across Southern England.
The company, which is being backed by British institutional and private investors, has purchased two venues in the past month and is in advanced talks with a third.
Robert Clive, Founder of 360 Golf, said: “We believe there is an opportunity to transform golf businesses into contemporary golf, leisure and hospitality venues at the heart of local communities.
“To do this, we’re upgrading clubhouses and restaurants, introducing wellness amenities, workspace solutions, racket sports and other activities.
“We’re also investing in new and improved golf experiences, including shorter format golf, putting courses and technology-driven golf entertainment.”
360 Golf has overseen the successful transformations of numerous golf venues, including The Point at Polzeath, Cornwall, and Feldon Valley in the Cotswolds. Now it is building its own portfolio of venues.
“While golf businesses benefited from increased demand during the pandemic, we believe a market correction is coming,” explained Robert Clive. “Businesses that have not invested in their course or clubhouse are starting to see customers and revenues melt away, with many clubs – especially those that opened in the past three decades – now facing increasing costs and significant capital expenditure challenges.”
Robert Clive added: “In our view, successful golf businesses in the 21st century need to offer varied amenities and attract a more diverse audience within their local communities, including golfers and non-golfers.”
Established in 1988, 360 Golf has worked with more than 150 golf businesses, from public golf courses to exclusive private clubs.
The company will announce the locations of acquisitions at a later date and has confirmed investment is in place to enable swift and efficient purchases of additional venues.
