Golf Course Improvements on the Costa del Sol

Costa del Sol stock imageSummer is an opportunity to enjoy the golf offer in Andalusia under advantageous conditions. Following the good response of the sector in winter, which is peak season in Malaga, the Costa del Golf courses have been done up for the summer, improving their facilities.

The Costa del Sol Tourist Board has summarised the improvements as follows:

Baviera Golf A motorised waterfall has been built crossing the path between holes 14 and 15. Accessibility between holes 10 and 11 has also been improved.

Añoreta Golf The offices and changing rooms have been refurbished as well as the catering area. A fifth padel court has been built. The holes have been cleaned and diverse paths have been improved. The teeing-off areas have been levelled off and the fleet of buggies has been renewed.

El Paraíso New tees at holes 7, 13 and 14. Hole 1 boasts a new green. The hole 15 fairway has been reformed and a new green has been built for holes 1 and 2. New drain lines and a new stone bridge. The terrace has been covered and a new fleet of buggies has been purchased.

Lauro Golf Access to the club is via a new roundabout.

Doña Julia Golf Improvements to the greens and rough areas. New restaurant. Refurbishment of the cafeteria, pro-shop and changing rooms.

Golf Sotogrande Restoration of the 18 holes, including drainage.

Golf Torrequebrada New paths for buggies. Renewal of machinery.

Río Real Refurbishment of the hotel rooms. Water saving system for the golf course.

Guadalmina Energy efficiency measures: incorporation of LED lights, solar panels for hot water and purchase of electric cars.

Magna Marbella Golf Hole 2 has been modified: now it is more technical and difficult.

Miraflores Golf Renewal of the entire pumping system.

Atalaya Golf Hole 1 on the Old Course has been renovated. 140 new semi-underground parking spaces and a 3,500 square metre plot to extend the clubhouse.

La Cala Resort Purchase of 55 buggies. Extension of the clubhouse short play area and putting green. Improvements to the gardening, security and internal signalling. Fertirrigation of the Europa course and improvements to its bunkers.

Los Arqueros Golf Purchase of 60 buggies. Waterproofing of planters. Layout of fixed markers for personalised outings.
