Thornbury Golf Centre, a Burhill Golf and Leisure (BGL) venue near Bristol, is hosting a full month of activities to get people into golf this May for National Golf Month.
The sessions began on 6th May and run throughout the month, welcoming beginners and enthusiasts of all ages and genders to try the game. Activities will include heavily discounted ‘Learn Golf in a Day’ sessions for adults, as well as free group lessons for juniors.
“Here at Thornbury, we want to remove barriers that may deter people from trying their hand at the sport,” commented General Manager, Tim Good, “so we’re inviting people of all ages and abilities to come along to Thornbury Golf Centre and just give golf a go.
“We have been working with National Golf Month from the start, and believe that this brilliant initiative will encourage a lot more people to get outdoors with friends and family to try a great, healthy sport.”
Thornbury Golf Centre is holding half day Learn Golf in a Day lessons specifically for adults, from 6th May, with a women’s only sessions to be held on Sunday 22nd and Saturday 28th, all offered at half price throughout National Golf Month.
The introductory course will include a one hour lesson on the swing, 45 minutes of chipping and putting, another 45 minutes of pitching and bunker shots, and finish with an hour on the course, with the provision of refreshments and lunch.
The one hour junior sessions began on Saturday 7th May and be split into age categories of nine and under, and ten and over, with attendees receiving their first session for free in conjunction with National Golf Month.
