The unique features of the tool includes a plastic tubular body that has a spring loaded action that allows for the steel prongs to be exposed when engaging the tool by pushing it against the turf.
The bottom of the tool has a cap with a beveled edge on opposite sides so that the tool can be pushed into the turf at an angle.
