STRI is delighted to announce the finalists of the 2016 Golf Environment Awards for the following categories; Environmental Golf Course of the Year, Conservation Greenkeeper of the Year and Outstanding Environmental Project of the Year.
The winner of each coveted award category will be revealed at the Golf Environment Awards Dinner taking place during BTME at the Hotel du Vin, Harrogate on 20th January.
Bob Taylor, STRI Senior Consultant – Ecology & Environment, commented “The Golf Environment Awards provide an important platform in which we can demonstrate the excellent work of individual golf clubs and the commitment of the industry as a whole in the protection and conservation of our depleting countryside. Golf is one of the few sports that is able to contribute both constructively and profitably to global sustainability. I am extremely proud to be working within the golfing community, which is now focusing heavily on sustainability in all of its guises and in the conservation of our natural resources.”
We are indebted to Justin Rose, GEA Ambassador and the following companies who demonstrate their commitment to positive environmental change through their own initiatives and sustainable activities, and their continued sponsorship of the Golf Environmental Awards: Farmura – An Aquatrols Company, BIGGA, Greenkeeping, Operation Pollinator, Ransomes Jacobsen, Syngenta, Tillers Turf and Wiedenmann.
