Aberdeen Asset Management is pleased to announce that American golfer Cheyenne Woods is to join its stable of global golf ambassadors.
Woods, who plays predominately on the LPGA Tour while maintaining membership on the Ladies European Tour, will carry the Aberdeen logo on her golf bag at all tournaments she competes in, including the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, which this year takes place from 24-26th July at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire, Scotland.
The Americas continue to be a key growth market for Aberdeen so this association with a U.S. based player is intended to deliver brand awareness in key markets globally.
Commenting on the announcement, Martin Gilbert, CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Cheyenne Woods into our Aberdeen team. Our golf ambassadors act as extensions of us both on and off the course and we believe Cheyenne’s outlook on the game and her ability to promote our brand globally make her a great pick”
Cheyenne Woods said “It is an honour to represent Aberdeen Asset Management. Their commitment to growing the game of golf is second to none, and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to work closely with such a fantastic team.”
Woods, who is Tiger’s niece, turned professional in 2012 and after graduating from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, made her professional debut at the 2012 LPGA Championship. Her first professional win came at the SunCoast Ladies Series in late August 2012. Woods became a member of the Ladies European Tour in 2013 and secured her second professional win at the 2014 Volvik RACV Ladies Masters.
