The Beauties of Bigbury Golf Club (Special Offer)

Bigbury Golf Club calendar 1A brave group of lady golfers have taken to the course in a very different way to raise money for local causes.

Thirteen women from Bigbury Golf Club in Devon have posed for a calendar in aid of The Triangle Centre in Kingsbridge, Cancer Research UK and the Bigbury development and junior funds.

The fundraiser was the brainchild of junior section treasurer Sandra Westlake, who jokingly mentioned the idea last year.

But as ladies began to endorse the cause and Sandra secured the expertise of Lorna Yabsley from Salcombe’s Bang Wallop! photography, the calendar soon became a reality.

Sandra said: “We asked as many ladies as we could, ensuring a range of age and experience, and all of the photos are taken on the course. I would like to thank Lorna, who donated her talent and time to make the calendar such an artistic and stylish advert for the club.

“We had such fun darting about the course in buggies between the holes while members continued with their game. Little did they know what was going on! It is not what you expect from your golf club but Bigbury is no ordinary club, it is friendly and sociable with a good sense of humour.”

Bigbury’s Director of Golf Nigel Blenkarne said: “’The beauty of Bigbury golf course’ has done pretty well and we are into a profitable position so the 2 cancer charities will benefit. However we still hold several hundred which will lose any value in a month or so.”

The calendar is now available at half price (£5) or 3 for £10. It measures 297 x 297mm – the longest side of A4 square.
