Caledonia Golf GmbH, one of the world’s most advanced putter development companies, have expanded their ambassador agreement with former Open Champion Paul Lawrie. The association will now see Paul playing with a Caledonia branded Tour Bag, and the logo displayed on the back of his cap.

Lawrie became an ambassador for Caledonia in January 2014, after an impressive resurgence in his career which saw him become part of the historic 2012 Ryder Cup team, ‘The Miracle at Medinah’.

For the past 12 months he has taken advantage of Caledonia’s leading technology in putter design, and their first hand approach in understanding the golfer’s needs. He commented, “I’ve been blown away by their ability to design and create new putters, and their skill to tailor to the individual. I tested numerous putters in their range in 2014 which were very impressive, and am really looking forward to having more involvement with them in 2015 and beyond.”

Famous for his short game, and aptly nick-named ‘chippy’ it’s understandable Caledonia Golf saw the obvious link to using Lawrie as a global ambassador. Having won the Claret Jug, arguably the most prestigious trophy in golf, with his triumph at the Open Championship in 1999, Lawrie has accomplished an impressive career of tournament victories. In addition to his Open Championship win, Lawrie has claimed seven further titles on the European Tour with victories in Spain (twice), Qatar (twice), Wales and Scotland (twice) and added two Ryder Cup appearances to his resumé.

The founder of Caledonia Golf, Claus-Peter Maier stated: “We are extremely pleased to expand this association with Paul, and we wish him all the best for the 2015 season.”
