Team places are being booked for the 23rd annual Golf Foundation Pro-Am, held again this year at The Buckinghamshire, on Monday, 12th October.
The Pro-Am is a highlight of the golfing calendar, supported by The European Tour and held at one of the country’s most popular golfing venues. Teams of three amateurs will be joined by a Tour professional on the day for a Stableford competition which features a range of prizes and on-course challenges.
The attractions include a champagne breakfast, dinner and a charity auction, with all money raised going to the Golf Foundation’s work in junior grass roots golf development (more than £80,000 has been raised in the last four years).
Places for the event are selling well but there is still time to book a team slot for a great day’s golf.
Competitors each year are typically from the world of business and sport, people who are keen to support the future of the game through the Golf Foundation, a charity that is committed to the sporting and social development of young people through golf. The Foundation raises money through the Pro-Am to fund programmes that make golf more accessible to children in schools, golf clubs and driving ranges.
Sarah Tennyson, Marketing Manager of the Golf Foundation, said: “Supported as it is by The European Tour, our Pro-Am is always appreciated by those who relish playing in a well presented competition. This event offers men and women from the golf industry and the business community a great opportunity to contribute to the future of the game while enjoying an excellent day’s golf at The Buckinghamshire.”
This year’s revenue will go towards the delivery of Golf Foundation initiatives such as Tri-Golf and Golf Xtreme in schools, the provision of the structured learning programme, the Junior Golf Passport, at golf facilities, and the Foundation’s inner-city project, ‘Golf Roots’, which this year is taking place in 16 cities. All of these initiatives support the work of the national golf partnerships to increase the number of people taking up golf and staying in the sport.
