Comuniq8 Managing Director, Mike Gray, (50) will be taking part in the Big Battlefield Bike Ride (BBBR) as part of Hero Ride 2014 to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

This year, the ride that has been happening every summer since 2008, will cover approximately 350 miles from Brussels to Paris before travelling to London to join the Grand Finale of Hero Ride. This final stage of the challenge will see the BBBR cyclists come together with hundreds of other Hero Ride participants who will have cycled form across the UK, to ride together en masse from Blackheath Common into Central London. They will stop en route to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph to remember all those who have sacrificed their lives in both WW1 & WW2, and those who still do today.

Hero Ride 2014 is Help for Heroes biggest demonstration of cycling support for wounded, injured and sick Service personnel as well as a massive charity fundraising challenge! Through Hero Ride 2014, the aim is to raise £1.5million so that the Charity can continue to support our wounded for life.

Mike commented: “Having been privileged to be able to visit British troops in Afghanistan with Colin Montgomerie, the PGA and The Ryder Cup in 2011, coordinating the PGA’s activity with the wounded personnel from Headley Court who use Golf as part of their rehabilitation and as a former member of the TA this is a cause close to my heart and I am proud to be able to support this worthy cause. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those in the golf industry who have been so generous in supporting me on this challenge”

Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq and provides direct, practical support to those injured in the current conflicts.

Bryn Parry, Co-Founder of Help for Heroes said: “Our ambition is for Hero Ride 2014 to be bigger and better than ever before and I would like to see the British public continue with their generosity for our heroes. Troops may be withdrawing from Afghanistan but our support will be there for those who are injured and their families, for life. It is thanks to fantastic fundraisers like Mike, that we are able to do this.”
